Peterbald cats are:

They typically follow their owners to always be with them and are medium vocal. Peterbald's usually get on well and live peacefully with other cat breeds and animals as well as with children. They are highly intelligent and show great affection. Peterbald's like investigating and will help with any tasks. Peterbald's play well on their own but Peterbald's shouldn’t be left alone for long periods of time. They also try to involve you in games of fetch and like having lots of toys to keep them stimulated and engaged.

The Peterbald originates from St Petersburg, Russia, in the latter half of 1994.

The Peterbalds body characteristics include:

What type of coat does an Peterbald have ?

The Peterbalds coat can be flocked, brush, bald, velour or straight. If the Peterbald is born with hair it can be lost over time due to having a hair-losing gene. Peterbalds come with all markings and colours. Bald Peterbalds are born 100% hairless. Peterbalds are soft and warm, with wrinkled skin and no whiskers or eyebrows. They are a little sticky to touch as they feel like warm rubber. Flock Peterbalds are only 90% hairless. The hair they do have is short and sparse but smoother than the bald Peterbald. Velour Peterbalds have 30% hair which is 1mm – 3.5mm long and more easily seen and reflects the light. Brush Peterbalds have curly and wiry hairs which can be both seen and felt. History of the Peterbald ?
A Russian Felinologist Olga S. Mironova held an experiment breeding a Don Hariless (Don Sphynx or Donskoy or Donsky) by the name Afinogen Myth (male) and Radma von Jagerhov who was a World Champion Oriental Shorthaired female. The founders of the Peterbald were the first two litters – four Peterbalds with the names Mandarin is Murino, Muscat is Murino, Nocturne is Murino and Nezhenka is Murino. The Peterbald was adopted in the Russian Selectional Feline Federation (SFF) in 1996 with the abbreviation PBD. The internation Cat Association (TICA) adopted this in 1997 with the abbreviation PB. Then in 2003 the World Cat Federation (WCF) abbreviated the Peterbald to PBD. Other abbreviations for the Peterbald include PD, PSX, PBD and PTB.

Food the Peterbald eats ?

The Peterbald loves food and will eat regular cat food but the Peterbald should eat foods that provides lots of energy in order to control their body temperature. Peterbalds should eat 30% fat and 23% protein with different kinds of vitamins and minerals.

Is the Peterbald an indoor or outdoor cat ?

The Peterbald is a cat that can go outside but if the Peterbald is hairless, it can get sunburned so some recommend that the Peterbald should be kept inside.

Does the Peterbald have health problem ?

The Peterbald is a cat that needs regular baths as their skin becomes dirtier than cats with hair. The Peterbald are prone to burning in the sun but aside from that no health issues have been identified with this relatively new breed.
