The Japanese Bobtail cat is one of the few cat breeds that actually enjoys playing in water. They also love to carry things in their mouths so thoroughly enjoy a game of fetch and when not playing, although they love to nap they are not lap cats and will be off exploring every corner leaper from surface to surface with the extremely strong back legs capable of reaching great heights.

Large, oval eyes the colours are varied and two different eye colours or blue eyes are highly prized
Although the Japanese Bobtail cat comes in two coat lengths because they have no undercoat they only shed seasonally and the longhair Japanese Bobtail cat does not suffer with matting or tangling as some longhaired breeds do. The tails on these cats are attention-grabbing as unlike the Manx cat each and every tail is different whether they are rigid or flexible they can be fused or jointed but are usually always expressive and must be handled with great care.
