The British Longhair was introduced by the Romans, the cats brought into the country breed with wild native cats and were then breed with Persian cats to creating the British Longhair cat with a thick coat.

The British Longhair will eat any good pet food however they are prone to become overweight, specially if kept indoors. With this in mind, a healthy diet is always advised.
